A little swallow was perfect for a summer's evening

I saw the repeat of the Met's 'La Rondine' last night from 2009. What a charming production. Some real first-rate singing. I really don't know why it isn't more popular - it is surely no more shocking than La Traviata, and the music throughout is beautiful - and much more gentler than a lot of other Puccini. I rated this all very highly indeed.  Each scene was a feast for the eyes too, and I am wondering if the DVD would not make a good addition to the small number I have thus. The Deco/ Belle Epoque settings were a real joy throughout.   This lighter opera is Moscato rather than Champagne, perhaps, but no less delicious for it.
